Elemental is a visual fireworks show, but done at range, not as high APM, and generally does well in PvP. There are two main things that make Enhance more fun for me. The first being the enhanced and instant heals, although you can only get 3 or 4 in a row before you start to run out of mana. The second is having a mix of ranged and melee abilities. Being able to stick and move in melee vs other melee, and then also being able to fall back and kite or start off a fight from range is nice. I prefer ranged over melee. Elemental requires less movement and less visual effects blinding the screen. Plus dropping chain lighting overloads and dropping multiple earthquakes feels great in AoE. Melee is a bit more cause of the clustering and movement to keep up with tanks who like to kite. Because of this in melee range you will take more damage but can use your procs to trigger instant heals on yourself. Especially with LOS at times. But I agree as melee it is kinda irritating to keep up. I enjoy elemental more because it is ranged damage.

Probably ele. Only thing I have played that kills slower is like shadow priest. My warlock and paladin have always tore through mobs like butter. That having been said, Elemental is simple in theory, but can scale to your playstyle because it has so many utility spells. You will always have something to press as soon as your ability hits but it is fun. And my experience is that ret paladins are a bit slower than enhancement shamans.

I love the enhancement shaman but I feel like there are too many buttons to press, too complicated imo. I don't understand why it has to be so needlessly complicated to be competitive. Guess my enhance will stay benched for another season.
