Website does NOT show the discounted price, but the displayed tag said the price was valid until 14th Feburary as part of the 1 week 'Giant Sale'. Their computers also didn't scan it at the advertised price, but they corrected it at the checkout for me to match what was on the sign. Sorry that I didnt grab a photo of the sign while I was in the store. I'm failry sure that Spotlight has these machines at these prices at least once a month. I bought the EL a few months ago and wasn't impressed. Its motor is very weak. It seems to be suitable for sewing flat, not too thick but not too thin, cotton only. Not sure if that was because my unit was a dud. Anyone else has the same machine and is happy with it? Only a few busted needles and jammed bobbins. Spotlight is basically on par with all these kitchen shops over inflating prices to then put them on sale every second week. Yup as others have said, it looks pretty basic to me.

They sew ok, if not a bit noisy and handle some thicker layers without too much drama. Side seams will be ok, but they will struggle on the double-turned hem when you get to the side seams. There is no Lightning stitch on these, a stitch on many machines that looks like a straight but overlaps like a zig-zag allowing movement. You can sew your stretch on these using a narrow zig-zag setting but keep in mind that this does not look as good. The Elna , Elna and Elna Sew Fun are virtually the same machine, however the Elna has a plastic ankle, more difficult to use and prone to breaking.
