The M5, A30, and the surrounding roads near Bridge Road in Exeter experienced heavy congestion following a police incident in the same area. Bridge Road is now open in both directions after a man died earlier today. He was confirmed deceased at the scene, his next of kin have been informed and police are not treating the death as suspicious at this time. Enquiries are ongoing. Traffic in the area was forced to follow a diversion , which includes the M5 and A According to Google Maps, the majority of the roads in the area are colour coded red, indicating serious congestion. Photos taken near the scene also showed Dawlish Road, Chudleigh Road and Ide Lane in the Alphington area of Exeter all "rammed" as vehicles try to navigate their way out of Exeter without the option of using Bridge Road.
