Fable Diner is the sister restaurant to the fancier Fable Kitchen, located on West 4th. Because of Covid, Fable Diner is only taking reservations. Thankfully we were able to make a reservation on arrival, for zero minutes from now. There was only one other couple in the entire restaurant, but I think the purpose of the reservation system is to enable contact tracing. We were shown to our table and then explained the protocol for during our meal — for example, pushing our plates to the far edge of the table when we were finished with them and how to signal for water. The staff were taking their protocols seriously; I was appreciative of this.

Staff were great and friendly. The duck pancake was good except the kimchi overpowered the dish and made some parts of my pancake soggy. Hubby loved the fancy strawberry milkshake. February We go there because my friend loves the milkshakes. I've not had one but will take her word for it. A bit noisy but we contributed to the noise too. Dietary restrictions: I don't eat pork so they made sure not to put it anywhere near my eggs.

The Kale Cesar Salad features bacon, sourdough croutons, fresh parmesan cheese and it was very tasty! The glistening but anemic chicken leg, partly covered with house-made gochujang sauce, was a letdown — I was hoping for scorch marks from a grill, or something deep-fried and sticky with sauce.
