As I add items to their inventory, they eventually reach their carry weight cap as usual and I can no longer add items. However, if I then reenter their inventory, I can continue adding items for a while again until they hit another limit. Sometimes this can take a few attempts.

There are 8 permanent companions available to the player in Fallout 3. All companions except for Dogmeat and Charon have a Karma requirement that must be met if the player wishes to enlist that companion listed in parentheses. If the player character ever tells a companion to wait but forgets where they did this, they should travel to any add-on location. This will send the companion home. I've pretty much always used Fawkes and he has never seemed to run out of ammo. Anything that I've ever stored on him I've never seen him use aside from grenades. Do followers need ammo. I believe fawkes has unlimited ammo for his laser other than that i believe other followers have limited ammo. From what ive seen with paladin gunny she uses up ammo, I gave her a plasma pistol and like 50 shots well next thing i knew she was using her boomstick instead of her pistol. I checked to see if it was broken but the ammo was gone.
