Festivales de olite

Every year, in mid-August, this beautiful town in the Spanish region of Navarre hosts a medieval festival. Do not miss the old market, festivales de olite, there is a contest of medieval medieval music, magic, medieval dances, storytelling, archery display, plays Without forgetting the dishes prepared in the restaurants.

This was our first experience at a parador, after four days in Spain. When we arrived in the town, we could not get close to the parador because the village was alive for the late September Fiesta. There was a jumping castle in the town square, a parade, bull fighting and fireworks during the evening we stayed in Olite. The parador itself was quite lovely, with comfortable beds and modern amenities. Our room looked out on the aforementioned square; one of favourite memories was being awakened in the morning but not too early by a marching band beneath our window.
