Some ffxi whm guide it's the easiest job to gear up, some say it's the hardest job in game. For a new player, WHM can be an opportunity, but it can also be a nightmare.
The guide was done for level cap 75 times, and is not updated to level 80 yet. I am just starting this, so have lots of work still to do. This guide is meant to cover every aspect of the WHM career, including endgame events and activities. I have my own experiences to draw from, but I am grateful for any input I get. One favor I ask of you though - please fill your ideas in the discussion section. The section on Subjobs is complete by now, I have not done a lot in terms of gear yet.

I have played White Mage as almost all of the races up until this point, even taking the job to 75 on two of them so far. This Guide is just a guide on how to play the job as I have seen it done so far. Some people may disagree with me and find they prefer to play WHM differently, but in my experience, these are the ways that the majority of competent and efficient White Mage's play. While I do not recommend Meleeing in a party at higher levels, the Weapon and Armor choices are here in case you are Skilling Up , Farming , or camping a Notorious Monster. It is my opinion, as you will read throughout this Guide, that White Mages belongs on the side lines ensuring the safety and continuity of their party. It is up to each person depending on their own circumstances to decide the level of importance of them to their Character and to keep a healthy balance of each as it is possible. The purpose of this guide is to analyze gear by level for WHM to provide an idea of what are the top choices regarding gear for aspiring WHMs. Two sets of gear are provided: party and melee. Although WHM does not blossom as a solo melee until after Hexa Strike , there may be situations you will want to melee at lower levels, such as in capped Ballista for the adventurous or to farm. It is important to keep in mind that this guide is a guide and therefore not the end-be-all list of what a WHM can and cannot wear. Italics will note items that you may wish to hold on to for level-capped events, such as ballista, CoP missions and BCNM. Although only the best items for their level are listed, bold items are considered the pinnacle of their level and are sometimes hard to get. Melee WHMs tend to prefer clubs over staves because of Hexa Strike , however before then the choice between Staves and Clubs is a personal one.

Check the value of items that you receive at the auction house and sell them, and buy yourself a nice club weapon and a shield. If you wish to save another inventory slot it's an easy choice to drop Hydrocera and just keep Pemphredo Tathlum You will need Pemphredo Tathlum for other sets as well. And you're right about the other options for dunes; but the overiew is meant to deal with expectactions to a large degree, and most people can expect to party in the dunes. Thank you for the info, yeah I was mainly wondering cause I saw in the WHM job guides on here and BGwiki were still listing chatoyant as main cure set equip. You are the only job that gets them, unless the other job is using a white mage sub. But most of the time cure is the absolute highest priority. Any race can do that - not just Taru. Keep Barfira up at all times when fighting a Goblin, an early bomb toss can easily wipe the party. Def: 19 HP: 10 12 Evasion : 1 2 Accuracy : 1 2.

It's fun to beat the snot out of stuff like a DD when you're a White Mage and there is the undeniable fact that it gives you the option to do things that normally require "lots" of people. Recovers caster's MP when Benediction is activated. Dropped from an ENM. I'll use Naji loop for other ring once I do the VR missions for that. Increase potency of Bar spells and add a magic defense bonus of 2 points. It was on my mind at the time, just somehow decided not to, and I will add it in. It's harassing another user. If so I'll go ahead and replace that in my cure set. Your role is support, keep everyone alive and at full fighting capabilities. Further more, rembering this will open a whole new world of possibilities to you - especially later in the game did you know White Mage has access to some of the best melee gear in the game? Def: 20 21 Evasion : 5 6 Enmity : -5 Refresh and convert you do not get when subbing it, elemental spells are too weak when coming only from the subjob, the enfeebling skill of the whm is inferior to that of a RDM.
