You might associate fingerboarding with a plastic toy you flung around in the back of your classroom in high school. While doing some research, we found that Lance Mountain is credited with building the first ever fingerboards, before the Tech Deck era many of us grew up in. So when we heard about a DIY fingerboard park hiding in Queens, we had to go find it. This was our day at the fingerboard DIY learning about the ins and outs of this unique little culture within a culture living right in our own backyard. I designed and printed a miniature skate park, to be used with fingerboards. After going to real skate parks with my friends, we often argue about how we would design our own skate parks differently. With this project, I got to try it out myself. To start, make sure to sketch your ideas on paper first, then draw it in fusion. I decided to stay simple, with just a staircase, ledge, and a ramp. You can experiment with other skatepark features like halfpipes, rails, bowls, etc. Sketching and extruding is really all you need in this design. There's no need to over complicate things, since simple geometry is ideal for skateparks.
