Since the stairway leading to the Temple is now broken, the only way to gain access to the Temple is by obtaining the Hookshot from the Kakariko Village Graveyard and using it to grab onto a Tree branch hanging off of the entrance platform. The Forest Temple is an eerie, complex Temple filled with strange puzzles and other features designed to confuse its explorers, such as an array of Switches which have the ability to twist entire hallways in an unnatural manner, rearranging the very Dungeon , making walls become floors. It one of the few Dungeons in The Legend of Zelda series whose structure can be altered in this manner.

Before going in, climb the vines on the right, move to the left and go down on the branch. Get rid of the Gold Skulltula , then shoot the Hookshot at the chest and pick up the Small Key inside. Now enter the temple, get rid of the Skulltula and get in the big room. After the four ghosts appear, open the door in front of you at the back of the room. Get rid of the Blue Bubble with the Hookshot then the sword, and open the next door. To defeat the Stalfos, use the Z lock and the Hookshot, then the sword. Take the Small Key in the chest and break the pots in this room, one of them should hold a fairy. Go back to the big room and go right towards a big blue block. Play the Song of Time and go ahead, you are in the western "green" room. Go right and look at the vines.

Skull Woods 9. This will bring you back to the tall room with the Blue and Red block. The Dark Realm.

When you first enter the dungeon you'll be ambushed by two Wolfos. Wait until they attack, dodge, and then stab them in the back to kill them instantly. Go up the vines to the right if you're facing the door and Hookshot to the chest on the other side of the room to get your very first Small Key. Enter the door, kill the Skulltula in the hallway with the Hookshot you can shoot it on either side with the Hookshot to kill it and enter the main room of the dungeon. Four Poes steal the light from the torches in the room. This makes the elevator inactive; you must defeat the four Poes hidden in the Temple to light all of the torches, and regain use of the elevator. Go to the room straight ahead, where there's a Gold Skulltula on the wall to the right of the door.

The Forest Temple has a dark and eerie vibe to it. The item obtained is the Fairy Bow. The dungeon requires Link to hunt down the Poe Sisters after they hid their flames.

In the area right before Hyrule Field, the guardhouse on the left now houses the Ghost Shop , with a sadistic owner inside. Chat with him and store him away in your memory for a later quest. Head for Lon Lon Ranch in the center of the field. To continue onward with the main quest, just to section 7.
