Hi all,. The Dewalt is 9 years old and has served well through many home improvement projects but I am doing more modeling and less house projects these days. My uses are occasional brad nailing, impact wrenching, air eraser, and hopefully air brush in the future. So far I have used the HF compressor for air erasing and it works great. The HF is comfortable to use running right next to me without ear plugs. It runs frequently for short periods but not continuously when using air eraser. In summary I would recommend this compressor. These are inexpensive but may be better than the noisy Miller with no tank or gauges. I bought the nitrogen tanks 2 and a pressure regulator for use leak checking refrigeration systems. Since I retired, I just use it for painting. The dry nitrogen is cheap once I paid for the tank set up and cart. Since by definition, the nitrogen is dry, I don't need an inline dryer like I do with my air compressor, and the only noise is the sound of the nitrogen going through the air brush. The only down side is that I don't use nitrogen without an outside ventilation open window, or in my case open garage door because nitrogen will displace air. On cryogenic refrigeration equipment, the practice was to open the doors on the container for 5 minutes before going in, but that was with a container using liquid nitrogen to refrigerate the contents and the nitrogen had been filling the space for at least days. The little bit use in spray painting with an open window won't really have any affect unless you turn the hose on yourself and try to breathe it!
