After the earthquake disasters in Turkey in there were many discussions about the design, choice and application of construction materials. This study includes information about the definitions and classifications according to TSE , the technology used by production, consumption areas, physical, chemical and mechanical properties and finally the usage in construction sector of brick, pumice concrete, autoclaved aerated concrete and perlite construction materials. According to TS , brick can be defined as following, "The material used by masonry which contains a mixture of clay, water, sand, ashes if necessary etc. Brick is consumpted mostly in the construction sector. It's used structurally active by masonry and slabs with ceramic I-beam, also used structurally inactive by the walls and slabs of reinforced concrete buildings. Pumice is a kind of rock which is formed through acid and alkali volcano facilities. Scoria is the name for alkaline pumice with its brown-black colour. Pumice is mostly used in construction, agriculture sectors and other several industries. According to TS , pumice concrete construction materials and structural members can be defined as following, "The construction materials which are based on pumice aggregate also cement and water which is compressed, vibrated and cured quartzite is added if necessary. Firsrt group contains pumice blocks and lightweight concrete with pumice aggregate. Pumice blocks are divided in three sub-groups according to geometric form, pumice brick, perforated pumice blocks for walls and pumice blocks for slabs. The classification of pumice concretes are made according to compressive strength.
