I might get one soon, I may have been playing guitars for years but I still don't know eveything. There is a lot of hatred towards the ZS on this forum. Everytime it gets brought up people argue about it. Also, I strongly dislike the stock pickups. I would change them immediately if I bought one. It's not the clear business by the way

I prefer the tone and weight of a mahogany SG, but it's always good to have some diversity. This is a joke right? It's Fast Too! As a new member of this board, I've read old messages and see a number of people really like paired 57 Classics on SG's. Not bad. Of course that is rather easily rectified, but I'm the type of person who likes to buy guitars that don't need a bunch of work to get them where I want them. While my feels like a fine and precise instrument, the SG is a war hammer. While I know many forum members here are not pleased with the design of this guitar, I've got to say kudos to Gibson for trying an innovative design. I'm not too concerned about the birch top as, with solid bodies, I find most tone comes from pickups, my amp, and my hands. I share your view on active pickups. This SG plays well with low action and optimal neck relief. I tried the stock t , a pickup by Bareknuckle and one by Seymour Duncan but many said the 57 was the way to go and indeed it was.
