As a person of faith, gifted hands review, I was impressed by the positive depiction of religion in helping Ben Carson and his mother to strive to overcome negative influences in their lives. Read the book if you want to hear a motivating story about hard work or about gifted hands review mothers can influence their children.

Rather than settling in to a life believing he was inferior, underprivileged and discriminated against, Ben looked to God for help and became an astounding example, not just for black children, but also for everyone. The people who made this movie are to be commended for so clearly showing that God has the cure for self-doubt, anger and prejudice. It is the true story of a black child raised by a single mother who constantly encouraged him to use his God-given gifts. He grows from being a poor student to the top of his class and then to become a world-famous neurosurgeon. It would be hard not to be inspired by this movie.

As I am deeply fascinated by all things neurological this was a really easy film for me to get into - but even if you have no real interest, the human side of this will really sideswipe you. It is incredibly and really frustratingly slow in places, but bear with me - the surgeries are amazing and very moving. Overall I'm giving this a 9, not for the production writing filming or direction which are at best 6 or 7 at most, but because films like this deserve to be made, should be made, and should be what we want to be made Good, Moving, and Inspirational Was this review helpful? I love how he credits his mom for helping him be better. There is minimal background on his wife, except for a brief scene hinting that she is a musician. It is based on the true story of Dr. Ithamar Enriquez Jose Gonzalez. Ben, not realizing he needed glasses, consistently performed way below the other students in class until his mother used all their savings to get him a pair. It goes from time when he struggled in the school to becoming the most decorated surgeon of his time. Upon hearing the story of a missionary doctor and decides to pursue a career in medicine. His is a remarkable journey proving that if someone like him, growing up in impoverished circumstances with little hope of a future, can actually rise above those surroundings to accomplish whatever he's determined to do. Its an uplifting story and if the film occasionally plays like a movie of the week you really don't mind since the performances are so strong that everything is smoothed over. We are a crowdfunded organization, supported by people like you. I said they're cheap. I see Sonya as a reminder of my own mother.

It boasts near-flawless direction from Thomas Carter, a vivid teleplay adaptation by John Pielmeier and uniformly magnificent performances, particularly from star Cuba Gooding Jr.

I wanted to read a book my primary school teachers loved, and Gifted Hands was insanely popular with all the kids and the teachers back then. Superb drama, and a true story of Ben Carson, surgeon. So often she copied other people's books to create her own. I really liked this movie a great deal and was completely blindsided by it, I really didn't think I was going to like it. He pioneered the revival of hemispherical surgery in profound cases of epileptic seizures, where the malfunctioning half of the brain is removed. But much of the middle is more mindset and locations rather than the essence it must have taken to continue in his physician's particular slot. Gifted Hands by and about Ben Carson, M. Gooding is fine as Dr. John Pielmeier. A lot of the scenes don't ring true and I was left wondering if anything even remotely close to them ever occurred in real life. Create a list ».
