It was actually blackletter script that got me into hand-lettering years back. You might not think of this classic script style when you think of calligraphy or hand-lettering. Years back, I posted a series of posts that dove into learning Blackletter specifically in Textura and Fraktur gothic calligraphy alphabet.

First things first, I feel like there are imaginary barriers to starting new hobbies. Whether it be learning the guitar, going to the gym or blackletter calligraphy, these barriers stop some people from ever even starting. The latter fact should also tell you that gothic majuscules work very well in bright colour: traditionally, vermilion, blue or green.

Still, you get the idea. This alphabet is written around six nib-widths high. However, mastering the execution and developing the muscles takes countless hours of practice.
