Gregor clegane zombie face
We learned a lot of incredible things during the most recent season of "Game of Thrones. Cersei's bodyguard on "Game of Thrones" is terrifyingly big and terrifyingly strong. Or maybe it's better to say he was those things, gregor clegane zombie face, because Ser Gregor "the Mountain" Clegane is essentially a zombie — and we just got a better glimpse of what he looks like under that helmet.
And it wasn't until that epic sixth season finale that we saw what was under the helmet. Only problem was Ser Gregor's fate was sealed when he beat Obeyrn Martell in a trial by combat in season four, but a poisoned spear doomed The Mountain even after he'd quite literally gouged his opponent's eyes out. Probably the same poison that got the best of Cersei's daughter Myrcella The brightened pictures show what appears to be rotted flesh over his pale face, which looks like it hasn't seen the sun in a good long while. We'd be praying a little harder to the Many-Faced God if we were you, mate. And here's another look at him on set for the big season 7 finale showdown between Daenarys, Cersei, Jon, Tyrion and

Skip navigation! Story from Game of Thrones. April 11, , PM. There are so many things to look forward to in the final season of Game of Thrones. Someone is probably going to end up on the Iron Throne for good if there is even an Iron Throne left standing by the end of the series. Lots of people are definitely going to die. The Night King is going to lead his army of the undead into a war with the living. Dany's dragons are going to fight an undead ice dragon. Prophecies are either going to come true or get debunked. And finally, fans might get to see the long-hyped Cleganebowl, aka the final fight to the death between brothers Sandor "The Hound" Clegane and Gregor "The Mountain" Clegane, but everything that's happened to The Mountain on Game of Thrones puts The Hound in a tough spot if he plans to make it out of the Cleganebowl alive. The Cleganebowl is a fan theory that has long floated around the internet and in excited discussions whenever these brothers shared scenes on Game of Thrones, ever since their first interaction onscreen at the Tourney of the Hand in Season 1. They have a long and nasty history as brothers that brings a new, horrible meaning to the term sibling rivalry.
His monstrous strength and size were unmatched, and he was one of the most powerful and dangerous people in the Seven Kingdoms.
So, we know Gregor was mortally wounded by Oberyn with manticore venom, and Qyburn does some sneaky trick to "save" him, and when he's back on his feet, he appears to have no soul, and his skin is pale and blue. Furthermore, in the latest episode, he takes a sharp weapon to the chest and doesn't even feel it. So, he is a zombie now, right? And if so, does that mean the Mountain we know is dead and in hell, and that the Mountain standing at Cersei's side is simply his corpse reanimated as an entity of its own, or is it still the same guy just with his personality changed to that of a zombie bodyguard? Need a bit of clarification, especially since there's rumors Tommen is going to die at the end of Season 6 which might get Cersei to finally set Gregor on the Sparrows, which will either end with him tearing the High Sparrow apart or the Sparrows setting him on fire, because only fire can kill zombies.

Related stories. The Mountain was "killed" in the fourth season of "Game of Thrones" when Oberyn Martell stabbed him with a spear covered in a nasty, flesh-eating poison. Of course, Oberyn got his head exploded when he showboated just a bit too much, but the Mountain was still a goner. He was brought back as "Ser Robert Strong," a silent, loyal monster with gold armor and red eyes. We saw a brief glimpse of him with his helmet off in the season finale, but it was so dark that it was hard to make much of anything out, other than that it was gross. I used Photoshop to lighten that screenshot, and it's still hard to see anything. It was even darker when the episode actually aired.

It's only been a few weeks since Game of Thrones Season 6 came to a close, with fans now starting the agonizing wait for Season 7. The lengthy haul between seasons can feel as long as a Westeros winter, but thankfully we have a few things to tide us over. The Mountain was killed towards the end of Season 4, during a trial by combat match where he fought Oberyn Martell Pedro Pascal. While The Mountain killed Oberyn first, crushing his skull, Martell had his weapons laced with poison, which killed The Mountain after his victory. After The Mountain's death, Qyburn Anton Lesser claimed he could bring him back to life, spending practically all of Season 5 on trying to resurrect The Mountain, until he returned wearing a large helmet that covered his entire face in the Season 5 finale. The Mountain only took his helmet off once, in the Season 6 finale when Cersei had captured Septon Unella Hannah Waddingham and called in The Mountain to torture the woman who made Cersei endure her walk of shame at the end of Season 5. The Mountain removes his helmet in front of her, and while we don't get a good look at his face in this scene, we get a much better look in this image.
