Corey is a confident, energetic, and optimistic year-old boy determined to make his band the best there is, despite his minute attention span and inability to see the obvious. He is always on the lookout for new gigs that Grojband can play and uses Trina's diary entries as inspiration for the lyrics to his band's songs. The Ace : He's an extremely skilled musician with a very charismatic personality and the ability to craft Zany Schemes that work more often than not. The only thing he isn't good at is coming up with lyrics for his work, but when he has Trina's diary on hand, he can come up with words on the fly. Affectionate Nickname : Laney calls him "Core". Ambiguously Bi : He has plenty of Ship Tease with Laney especially later on , but he's also closer to Nick Mallory than most heterosexual males would be; he's perfectly happy to hang off his neck, hug him in front of an audience, and is generally quite touchy-feely with him.

Grojband is the central focus of the TV show Grojband. They are a band of four teenagers named Corey, Kin, Kon, and Laney. Their music is great, but they're terrible at writing lyrics. In order to get lyrics, they have to get them from Corey's sister Trina's diary. Grojband will have to do something to annoy Trina and play with her emotions so that she will freak out and go insane. When she does this, she writes in her diary to let out her anger. Corey will steal her diary, read her latest entry, and put it into words for a new song. Grojband is a band in a garage and the people in this band are Corey Riffin who is a quirky year-old lead singer and guitarist, Kin who is a smart inventor and the keyboardist, Kon who is the twin brother of Kin who is fat, dumb, and gassy and is the drummer, and Laney Penn who is the female who plays the bass. Their music is awesome and everyone loves it, but their lyrics are terrible and they usually don't have those and they always need a way to get some so they steal all their lyrics for songs from Corey's older sister Trina. They do this by getting her angry and she writes in her diary so then they steal the lyrics from her. Trina isn't aware that they're doing this to her. Trina Riffin hates the guts of Grojband and is always trying to make a way to end them forever both she never ever can.

As revealed in "Math of Kon", she keeps her love of math hidden grojband she won't be associated with nerds.

Grojband is a animated series that first aired on June 10, It was created by Todd Kauffman and Mark Thornton as well as a multitude of others. A year-old boy named Corey Riffin starts a garage band with his friends Kin , Kon , and Laney and quickly comes to the realization that his band sucks. It's not their music or ever-changing image that's the problem. It's their lack of good lyrics. This was all until they found Corey's older sister Trina's diary. When they looked in her diary they found that her entries were so profound that they would make perfect lyrics for songs. All they need to do is to toy with her emotions to make her write in her diary about her problems and angst so that they can put her diary entries into lyrics. Follow Corey and his garage band as they reach for the top and go on wild adventures to try and anger Trina and get lyrics for a new song before they go up on stage and play their next gig. Gasp at the problems they face and the solutions they come up with to get their band noticed so it can become the biggest band in all of Peaceville.
