Prospective trainees can apply for these positions to prepare for entry to related Registrar training streams and study, hmo3 critical care, training and exam support will be provided for preparation to join future Registrar training programs.

Residents will have the opportunity to rotate through areas of Critical Care located at our main Hospital in Fitzroy, a number of our partner Hospitals across Melbourne and regional opportunities as well. Over the year you will develop your skills in vascular access, airway management and respiratory, cardiovascular and renal support. You will have the opportunity to meet foundation requirements for entry into the CICM training program and have access to our well-established ICU education program as well as opportunities to participate in research and quality improvement. The ICU is a 20 bed mixed medical and surgical unit including cardiothoracic and neurosurgical intensive care services admitting patients per year. The unit has accreditation for 24 months of core training with the College of Intensive Care Medicine including cardiothoracic and neurointensive care. We aim to tailor your rotations to your critical care career choice in Intensive Care, Anaesthetics or Emergency Medicine. Vincent's has a strong commitment to supporting our doctors in postgraduate training. Education programs include a comprehensive medical orientation program on commencement, weekly lunchtime education sessions on a range of topics specific to junior medical staff and weekly grand rounds. Each candidate who has accepted an offer of employment for the upcoming clinical year has the opportunity to list any rotation preferences, leave requests and any other requirements prior to the upcoming allocation being finalised. The Critical Care stream offers rotations tailored to suit those intending to pursue a career in Anaesthetics or Emergency Medicine or Intensive Care. Orientation is held on the first Monday of the new term.
