It can collect Essence and enter dreams. The Dream Nail is a sacred weapon and talisman, which can cut the veil that separates the waking world from dreams. Before the Knight acquires it, the blade dulled over time, making it necessary to fill it with enough Essence to awaken it. Another one of the Dream Nail's abilities is to teleport the user from one place to another through dreams. The user of the Dream Nail is referred to as the "Wielder", an entity whose arrival the Moth Tribe had awaited. Doing so sends the Knight into a dream where they receive the Dream Nail from a Moth. Hornet is captured by outsider bugs and brought to their kingdom, Pharloom, but she escapes her cage before arriving at their destination. She then must battle foes and solve mysteries to ascend on a deadly pilgrimage to this kingdom's peak. Health is represented as Masks, shown in the upper-left corner of the screen. Hornet starts the game with 5 Masks and can obtain more. Health is lost by taking damage, either from enemies or from environmental hazards. Health can be regained by the use of the Bind ability consuming a full Silk spool.

Elder Hu remains in place during the attacks, and his floating pattern is low enough to the ground, where attacking with the Nail is possible. Even the Dreamers themselves can not hide from such a weapon. Perhaps you should lay down your nail if it haunts you so, and find a new calling that eases your soul, hollow knight dream.

Eventually, as you progress through the game you come across a cool ass moth dude who is kind of the last of his kind. One of the lamest boss fights, in my opinion, is the White Defender who is just a tougher Dream Version of Dung Defender. The Dream Realm is a plane beyond the physical world. The Dream Realm consists of numerous dreams which vary depending on the being or landscape they are rooted to. Dreams can take the shape of those who have passed away, such as Spirits , or dreams can form based on memories. Essence are the fragments of light that dreams are made of. Essence can be seen as floating particles in the background of most dreams. Essence particles can have different colours depending on the dream. When Warrior Dreams or the Radiance are hit, Essence particles emit from them. After their defeat, Essence continuously spills from their bodies. A veil exists which separates dreams from the waking world. Powerful beings such as the Dreamers can trap others inside dreams from which they can never escape.

Unn created the Mosskin and the vegetation of Greenpath from her dream. I find the stories of the Three Nailmasters Brothers so compelling due to the Dream Nail as smacking them with it will not only give you a hint on where else to find the others but also just tell you how they feel about each other.
