I originally chose the Aldor in BC to gain rep with and in that expansion got them to exalted and was therefore hated by the Scryers. I purchased the required items on the AH basilisk eyes and turned in the quest in Shatt times. Each time I turned in the quest I saw how to change aldor to scryer the General tab a message that said Aldor went down and Scryers went up. When I was done my Aldor rep was neutral and my Scryers was still 35, of 36, hated.

And there are three levels of hate for each faction-- you start at Unfriendly depending on which faction you first chose to join , and then slowly fall down to Hostile, and then Hated. You can't actually get the normal rep quests for the other side until you reach Neutral, so if you want to switch sides, you have to go to Shattrath and get a special quest for Scryer rep, it's Voren'thal's Visions , and for Aldor, it's Strained Supplies. That quest consists of a simple animal drop basilisk eyes and spider venom sacs, both from Terrokar , and can be repeated all the way back up to Neutral.

December 25, Flew over to the Scryer place, but Voren'thal doesn't offer the repeatable quest for Arcame Tomes. Checked the Hagard War Veteran for the quest to initally choose a faction but nothing. So, did I miss something? Is there another quest I have to do? Do I need to get my Scryer rep up to at least Friendly before I can turn in the rep items? And of course I forgot to check prior to selecting a faction — call me stupid. The venom sacs can be looted from the various Dreadfang spiders that are all over Terokkar Forest. She also had the blue? I ended up doing this quest 4 more times in order to move up to Unfriendly from Hostile with Aldor. I will have to do it about 8 more times to hit Neutral and gain access to Aldor vendors.

How are y'all not going to talk about the Scryer's Bloodgem for caster dps? Thats the reason casters went Scryer and not Aldor So prot paladin goes Aldor, I think? Kinda thought they would label which class goes to which clearly. Every class of tank except for Feral Bear Druid should consider Scryer.

This choice affects what parts of Shattrath you will be in as well as what patterns you will have access to with your chosen professions. This is not a permanent decision, however changing from one to the other requires significant time investment so making a good choice early on is much smarter. There are slight advantages between the factions that you can take into consideration, regardless of class or spec that might help sway your decision.

They do drop Chunk O'Basilisk if you're a cook, and they can be skinned if you're a leatherworker, so there's that. Doing so only takes you to neutral. The turn in if memory servers, basilisk eyes will only get you to neutral, so you can pick the opposite rep and start doing the daily quest again.
