I've just finished installing all updates to get it up to speed but it looks like the drivers for the laptop's USB 3.

What happened to the system before you began this reinstallation of Windows - was it working and if it was not working why are you wanting to reinstall Windows now? You could visit the HP Support site and enter your system Serial Number to find out all the details of the system as it shipped from the factory, find out perhaps the make and model and size of the HDD if you don't already know and work on finding a replacement from a trustworthy site. By the way, how did you identify which chipset was needed? As far as your notebook is concerned, the manual says it has an A70M chipset, which I assume is a 7.
