Hp pavilion g6 card reader driver

Any card pluged into the SD slot isnt recognised. I just purchased the same laptop OCt 20th and am just trying out the SD slot and it is not working for me either. Is there a driver needed? It appears that some SD cards are readable by this G6 card reader, and some SD cards are not readable by this G6 card reader.

I have a Pavilion gc55nr, W7 64, I down loaded all the drivers some time back when they were still posted Laptop has been fine. Don't recall if I ever used the card reader before but today when I wanted to it wouldn't recognize the card.
