The FlexFit Hyken Mesh is an affordable model but falls short of the top office chair models on the market. While suitable for short office meetings, it lacks the comfort necessary for optimal focus and the ergonomic support for an average day at work. In our review process, comfort takes precedence, as it is the most important aspect of an office chair. Unfortunately, the FlexFit Hyken earned one of the lowest scores received by any of the products in our test lineup. In our first set of evaluations, we looked at the seat. The FlexFit Hyken was less than impressive and earned a below-average score. A shorter seat pan was one pain point for this chair, and while the mesh is initially comfortable, ours immediately started to change to the shape of the person testing it, staying permanently deformed after use. Both the back and armrest comfort also leave much to be desired.

Opinions are mixed on comfort, durability and adjustability. Even when you are laying back, you don't feel slouched nor stiff. It took roughly 2 hours to finish the chair doing it alone, though that was mostly just putting the chair together. Depth: 30 to 39 in. One person found this helpful. The back shroud that covers the metal bracket that mounts the back rest to the seat is the weakest point and has cracked, but otherwise it's been great after 2 and a half years of continuous use. They mention that the head support is too low, the chair can't go lower, and the arms are stuck at the lowest position. Assembly of the chair wasn't "hard " but it did take a while to do. And let's be real, you can't complain about build quality at this price point. The backrest feels perfect in size and back support.
