Im sorry its just a stupid movie, just because someone tries to make a movie that looks deep and smart doesnt mean it is, its just a waste of 3 hours without any real point or plot, there are many smart and deep movies that do great job, this is just a mess of a movie. He is effectively outside of himself observing his relationship with his mother. It's not clear why he wants his father. Absolutely love them. It was an imagined reality.
