The pharmacy also sells ice cream and locally made popsicles under a striped awning in a corner of the store — a nod to the time when most pharmacies sold snacks and operated soda fountains. Baldovino said she plans to eventually hire another pharmacist, but currently is the only pharmacist, which means spending the bulk of her time at the business, working with her staff of three technicians. The pharmacy sells over-the-counter medicine and currently accepts Medicaid and MIP patients for prescriptions, along with those who want to self-pay, she said. The pharmacy offers walk-in COVID testing, she said, and will administer vaccines and flu shots and help patients monitor their blood pressure and blood sugar. It will offer home delivery of medicine as well as curbside pickup, she said.
