I'm a bit disappointed I went to JL today to check my bra. I usually go to an independent store owned by a Rigby and Peller trained fitter, and when I went was measured as 35 inches round the band. She told me either a 34f or 36e depending on the bra and since then I have worn a 34f and find them very comfortable. I've lost a bit of weight and measuring myself round the band I am now 34 so I thought I ought to check the cup size The lady in JL measured me as 36???? Did I just get a newbie?? Or is my tape measure broken. I'd hazard a guess she probably didn't measure tight enough. Normally they don't need the tape at all, they just work it out from how existing bra fits. Did you try any on? Normally they go with my current size and give me an armload to try on, changing sizes and styles depending on the fit. Lady I saw was brilliant, declared me a 30E before even getting the tape measure out and she was right. Funnily enough she measured my band and said what size are you wearing now And looked quite confused when I said 34f, she looked again and said well it fits very well The bit I don't get is if you asked me how tall I am I would say 5 ft You wouldn't then go oh so let's add 2 inches on for a laugh!!! Or if the doctor said how big is your waistline, I wouldn't go well it's 29 inches so I'll tell him it's 31 I didn't try any on as i was really just checking, will pop to my little shop after half term.

John Lewis provide a free personal styling appointment in store or a virtual online appointment and after having mine I would definitely recommend it. I booked my appointment via the John Lewis website. Cancelling or rescheduling your appointment is super easy too, I had to reschedule mine a few times and I did so via the reminder text message link and again this is free. After having to reschedule a couple of times because Elsie was poorly and industrial action meaning I had to cancel some leave, I finally had my appointment. After making my way upstairs through the lovely perfume department, I was warmly welcomed at the styling hub by Amber.

I started to read things about going down a band size and up a cup size so after I had dd I bought some 32Bs and later 32Cs this was great as I'd always thought I had no boobies and here I was in a C cup Even more recently I've read that you should really wear a band the same size as your actual under-boob measurement 30 for me and each inch increase for your boob measurement relates to one cup size so officially I'm a 30DD. Will try actually measuring myself sone time when I find a tape measure and see what they are.

Have added Curvy Kate, Pour moi, flirtelle and a couple of others from bra stop, plus a new crap shop at bluewater dumb woman insisted I was 34 because the tape measure says so I think they are all manufacturing bras from the same wires.
