But when his powers were restored, an evil interdimensional spirit from inside the crystal named Trion also transferred into Marko. Sensing vast potential, Trion possessed Juggernaut and elevated his powers to the point where he could actually break through the barriers that separate dimensions. Using his newfound ability to punch through dimensions, the Trion-controlled Juggernaut made his way towards the spirit's home dimension, where it could assert its power and control. In the process, Marko's longtime criminal partner and best friend Black Tom Cassidy was also sucked through the broken dimensional barrier. Cassidy was recovered by the dimension's native species, who asked for his help in stopping Juggernaut.
