My favourite advert this year is the Tesco one where the teenager is trying to ignore Christmas but bit by bit it takes him over. Everyone in the family then ends up dressed as something Christmassy. I like the Guinness one where the froth on top of the drink is singing. They are all dreadful, at least the few I have seen are. Have yet to connect an advert with a specific brand. That's fabulous.

Christmas TV advert time! Nothing says the festive giving season quite like gathering around the television set to watch some TV adverts to fuel our rampant consumerism. A young girl asks her mum who gives Santa presents, and before long the mother-daughter duo are on an overseas trip to the North Pole to treat the big man himself. Along the way, they pass out a variety of perfectly thought out gifts to all the people they meet along the way. A lovely, tongue-in-cheek way to show off the full Boots range and remind us of the spirit of Christmas.
