She has the habit of perpetually frowning, although she does smile on rare occasions. Satsuki had long hair as a child, and while it was cut slightly shorter during her younger teen years, she grew it out later on. In Episode 25 , she cuts her formerly long hair to page-boy shoulder length style. Similar to her mother, Satsuki's presence is often accompanied by a glow of light that has been described by Uzu Sanageyama as "dazzling. Prideful to say the least, Satsuki is an extremely intelligent, calculating and patient young woman while simultaneously unwavering and iron-fisted. Satsuki refers to people as "pigs in human clothing", and justifies that the weak and foolish must be ruled. Due to her steadfast convictions, she also possesses a natural charisma and ability to lead others. In spite of her pride, Satsuki is shown to be pragmatic and determined, willing to cast aside pride and using whatever means necessary in order to secure victory, even if it threatens her life. In spite of her behavior at school, Satsuki is not heartless. While very harsh and not very willing to tolerate failures, she does care a great deal for the Elite Four ; and is as protective of them in her own hidden ways as they are to her. When she reminisces about this to Soroi, Satsuki, herself, notes that she must have been a kind-hearted girl if she'd gone that far to protect her butler's feelings. Satsuki genuinely loved her father and her sister, enough to avenge them by attacking the mother who disposed of them.

As kiryuin satsuki kindergartner, she wore the same hairstyle with her mid-back length sidelocks and hip-length hair. Her demeanor as she begins her rebellion against Ragyo is also notable. I really, really liked this show, and I want to talk about it, but the darn thing is just too weird to really fit into my conventional format. Satsuki Kiryuin was my favorite character in Kill la Kill , and I want to talk about why I think she works so well as a character, why the choices she makes are so interesting, and how they fit into some broader narrative archetypes and tropes that I really enjoy. Our protagonist, Ryuko Matoi, arrives at Honnouji looking for the person who murdered her father, and she has good reason to believe Kiryuin knows who that is. But at the moment when Raygeo begins to put her plan into action, Satsuki quite literally stabs her in the back. She had never intended to help her mother destroy the world, but instead had spent her life building up Honnouji Academy as a weapon to use against her.

Hazy-Feel Turn : She always had her own agenda since the very beginning of the plot, it just took her seventeen episodes to get the perfect shot at Ragyo's back. Most of the time it's more of a "If you think I'm wrong, then take my head" dare than actual sincerity, though she does mean it. While she produces several exceptional fighters, she also destroys and discards the people, like Nudist Beach, who provide a supporting role to the front-line heroes, forcing the survivors to essentially fight the war against Ragyo using plans and resources that are only kept together by heroism and duct tape. However, despite her stoicism, Satsuki's not emotionless: she does genuinely care about her subordinates and may even have hidden motives behind her ruthless regimes. It doesn't stop Ryuko's motion though, just changes the direction from vertical to horizontal. You shall pay for taking the lives of my father Soichiro, and my little sister who was never even given a name! Firstly she hands out the pieces of Senketsu to her soldiers to give them a power up and gather data. Xanatos Gambit : Being an Machiavellian-style tactical genius, she excels at executing these on a regular basis: Her plot in episode 7, in which she permits Ryuko to start her own club to fight the other club presidents, ends with her able to weed out dozens of weaklings and gain an excuse to rebuild and fortify her system with a "Naturals Election". It's ultimately subverted when she admits her actions were no better than her mother's in episode 22 and apologizes to Ryuko. Easily Forgiven : Averted in Episode 22, where despite her actions being noble from the start, and risking her life to save Ryuko after the latter was brainwashed , Ryuko states that it doesn't excuse all of the things Satsuki's done before and it takes a heartfelt apology from her for Ryuko to forgive, and accept her as an ally and sister.
