Lanmark was engaged by a client to prepare the conceptual design for a net 32 MW flash and binary geothermal power plant. The scope of work involved evaluating alternative power generating cycles, and energy transportation and logistics to develop the best solution for the geothermal power plant and hydrogen facility. The process uses a steam turbine driven by the hot steam from a high-pressure separator to generate power. The remaining geofluid is used to preheat and vaporize an organic fluid in a closed loop Organic Rankine Cycle to maximize power generation. The power generated is transformed to kV and transmitted on a high-voltage powerline to a nearby facility where electrolysis is utilized to produce green hydrogen.
