Okay, so my friend is experiencing a bug that a lot of us have. After completing "Battle for Whiterun" he gets the Liberation of Skyrim quest line, where his objective is to report to Ulfric Stormcloak. However, after reporting to him, the quest does not finish and he still has the same objective. We've tried multiple things to fix it, but most haven't worked. I remember having this bug on original skyrim but I forgot how to fix it myself. Anyone have any ideas?

After your doings at Whiterun, you'll have to report to Ulfric. Upon doing so, there was no dialogue option to progress. Tried waiting numerous days to see if it changes, nothing. Whiterun gets stuck in a state of limbo where you cannot fast travel there. I've gone back to an earlier save to attempt the entire quest again and see if it changes. Will update post if it succeeds. But I do get the frustrations.

I have had the same problem for two days now and it got solved by fast travel to Windhelm stables and then walking to Ulfirc.

Now, I will mention that I just had the glitch where the battle music was on a constant cycle. I was looking up a few ways of trying to get rid of it, including letting myself be killed after picking a fight with the guards. I tried leaving the city and traveling back to Whiterun. But eventually the track timed out.

Liberate each of Skyrim's Holds depending upon your choices during Season Unending :. This quest governs the overall progress of the Civil War for the Stormcloaks. One final complication is that when you complete the quest Dragonslayer during the Main Quest , any hold other than Haafingar that you have previously been tasked with liberating is immediately transferred to Stormcloak control.
