The God of Thunder was motivated to exact revenge against the Mad Titan for what he did to his people at the start of the film. Unfortunately, his arrogance not only led to his failure to execute his plans, but it also resulted in Thanos' catastrophic snap at the end of Avengers: Infinity War. Marvel Studios presented the Mad Titan as a misguided villain who had good intentions but evil plans. Convinced that for the universe to be sustainable, it needed to be balanced, he sought the six Infinity Stones to execute the snap. While he killed half of life in the galaxy, he didn't go out of his way to murder individuals in Avengers: Infinity War. Although he did execute several characters who stood in his way.

This was originally supposed to be mostly Loki series oneshots but it's now really just kinda everything Marvel, and the only reason I haven't changed the name is that I like the cover but Loki really is in most of them. This takes place shortly after The Avengers and I definitely didn't write it in, like, March, and then forget about it. There are no windows. There are no clocks. The three meals the prisoners are provided daily all blend together; a largely flavorless mush that can't be differentiated from breakfast and dinner. Loki passes much of the time by sleeping. If there is one thing he enjoys about being imprisoned, it's the bed he was provided; a luxury no other prisoner in the dungeon has. His home, of course, has places to rest, too. They're not barbarians. But nothing can compare to the feeling of a warm, wool-filled mattress. He has Frigga to thank for that, he's sure. She's come down to visit him a few times since his return to Asgard. She's tried to understand him and she's tried to reason with him, but she'll never succeed. He won't give her that satisfaction. He'll drop the occasional lie when her questions become too much to bear — and occasionally a fraction of the truth when he knows it will hurt her more — but he won't do her the honor of a true conversation.

Upon this discovery, the Guardians teamed up to destroy the living planet, succeeding with the help of Mantis , who joined the group, but at the cost of Yondu Udonta sacrificing his life.
