First up is one of the better-known spots for brunch in Belfast — General Merchants the breakfast here is the business, too! However, there are also some funky additions, like the Mushroom Croque Madame which includes eggs, cheese, and sherry roasted chestnut mushrooms. Any time spent queuing will be well worth it. In fact, this is a C. S Lewis themed cafe, with everything from quotes and vintage crockery to references to the work of C. S Lewis dotted around the cafe. The menu here is an all-day affair and it boasts everything from a vegan stew and poached egg and avocado to rhubarb and custard French toast to much more. This is one of the funkier places for brunch in Belfast, with everything from crispy fried feta fig, honey and pecan salad to local rarebit and everything in-between up for grabs,. Visitors here can expect everything from poached eggs on sourdough with black pudding, crispy artichoke and fried egg to some TASTY home-made chocolate milk with cinnamon and brown sugar French toast.
