Last year Lure of the North announced that they were sadly closing their retail store much to the dismay of many people. Their line of winter camping gear was not only unique, but well made and offered people a chance to have a hands-on experience. Their workshops, courses, and guided expeditions focused on essential crafting, winter travel, and survival skills have provided knowledge and experience to countless people. Our friend Justin Barbour is about to set out on his longest expedition yet, a solo, year-long trek across northern Quebec, Labrador, and Newfoundland - Expedition Northeast. Justin's beautifully-documented travels through some of the most remote places in eastern Canada give us a close-up view of the trials and tribulations of solo travel through the boreal forest.
