It is understood that a facade cladding system is likely to demonstrate different performances in terms of fastening safety, fire safety and resistance to atmospheric conditions. The scope of the duties of a facade cladding material is established by comparing it with the roles of the facade. There are material properties related to each performance criteria: safety of fixing; Modulus of Elasticity, compressive strength, tensile strength, coefficient of thermal expansion, weight of unit volume, and concerning fire safety; ease of ignition and flame speed, coefficient of thermal expansion and thermal conductivity as the last feature concerning resistance to atmosphere conditions; water absorption, heat absorption, coefficient of thermal expansion, corrosion and, hardness. Within the framework of this definition, the selection is made often from among ready-made systems for building today's facade cladding systems, which might prevent discovery of new design opportunities by taking into consideration the basic characteristics resulting from the type of material. In this competitive environment, architects who are involved in the decision making process of facade coating system design, seek the one which is the most satisfactory from an aesthetic perspective and the most ideal in technical terms. Therefore, an architect can benefit from this evaluation method when selecting facade cladding systems by establishing the priorities according to the respective conditions applicable to the building.
