Here we go I have a Mazda3 5 door 2. This was in "D". I tried putting it in manual and it limped the remaining 6 mi home without issue. Sunday was a different story, it did it in Manual and "D". Main offending gears were 3rd, 4th, and 5th in "D" and manual. Sunday night i changed the trans fluid again 5 quarts not a full flush. Fluid was a little dirty but not that bad. Just wanted to make sure it wasnt some filter issue. I took it out at about am after finishing different long story behind that and it did it almost immediately in the same gears and conditions, like less than ft of driving. I took streets on Monday and took it to the steelership on Tuesday at AM.

About 5 days ago I was driving about 45mph and was in 5th gear and out of no where it downshifted into 3rd very hard causing my whole car to jerk and almost stop in the middle of the road. The next day I was on the highway going 70 and the same thing happened, was in 5th, went to 3rd and jerked my whole car again even worse.

I noticed the car has stalled out in idle during cold start a few times, weeks within owning the car and hasn't done it since. But i still have the issue where it idles low at times during cold start and revs up and down under 1k rpms. Im not sure if its a fuel pump issue or what. I notice every cold start drive like clock work it makes a distinct spring click sound i can hear right when the car hits just about 2k rpm on second gear. First gear to second is always noticeably rougher than other gear transitions. I don't know much about mazda 3's but its my first one and I like it.
