This is a very me2 vanguard build class that mixes close-quarter combat, ranged combat, and Biotic abilities. The Vanguard build is a very risky build that fights close to the enemies. Its main advantage is the Charge ability that allows getting close to enemies and instantly restore shields.

The Vanguard Class specializes in dealing massive damage at point-blank range and sometimes, even killing enemies with just one shot thanks to their expertise in wielding a Shotgun. If they have to inflict mid-range damage, they can use a Heavy Pistol instead as it provides decent accuracy and damage at this distance. They can immobilize enemies by knocking them off of their feet and by suspending them up in the air with Shockwave and Pull. The Champion Vanguard Build maximizes their capability of dealing burst damage up close with the Charge Power , which provides instant access to enemies by ramming into them. This pairs extremely well with their Shotgun usage making one-shot kills their staple technique. As such, they are often touted as a very risky Class to play since they become susceptible to incoming and occasionally deadly attacks, every time they move closer to their enemies. Shockwave can even kill them if its rank is high enough due to its massive Impact Force.

On lower difficulties where enemies are largely unprotected, or with the right strategy using powers to strip the defenses of enemies first , powers like Shockwave or Cryo Ammo can obliterate large groups of enemies with ease. When it comes to armor and defensive upgrades, the Vanguard benefits the most from shield-enhancing armor parts and upgrades compared to the health upgrades, since Charge's bonus to shields depends on how much shield you have. Offensively, weapon damage is far more important than power damage when it comes to armors. For this purpose, the Kestrel Armor is very useful, as it boosts shields, melee and weapon damage and adds some other bonuses as well. It is also useful to take the first 3 biotic damage upgrades early to unlock the duration and cooldown upgrade for biotics, but they don't benefit Charge. This power adds extra fire damage over the next few seconds, which stops enemies from regenerating, and works effectively against armor.
