After having completed Metro two times for both endings I've found that in general the Abzats seems to be the most useful weapon around. That got me thinking - is it possible to actually build one? High ammo capacity 20 shells before reloading? Yes, please. High damage my premier go-to weapon for taking down Librarians And Demons. Insanely high RoF for a shotgun. It's a bloody Light Machine Gun that fires shotgun shells.
This buckshot-firing heavy machine gun is deadly at close range, metro 2033 shotgun, but eats through ammo at a high pace and does not accept silencers. Never managed to slay a Librarian and Demons soak up ammo like nobody's business too.
It's one of the more powerful non-explosive weapons in terms of concentrated damage. It resembles and is derived from a cut-down DShK In the Redux version, it is a rare but obtainable weapon. After the war, Andrew the Blacksmith obtained a wide variety of old pre-war guns that were in barely-serviceable condition and set about making them useful. One of these projects was finding a use for the DShK
The Saiga , known in-game simply as the Saiga , is a magazine-fed pre-war automatic shotgun available only in Metro: Last Light and partially in Metro Redux. Unlike some Last Light weapons featured in Metro Redux, it acts as a stand-in for the Abzats from Metro , a powerful automatic shotgun, though the Abzat was later added to the game by purchasing the Season Pass , It's also one of the last weapons Artyom comes across in the game, first purchasable in Undercity and found on numerous enemies afterwards. The Saiga is superior to all other shotguns in the game due to its fast reload on par with an AK and potentially massive magazine size when upgraded with the round extended drum magazine. Thus, it has massive firepower, second only to the Abzats. Even with the drum magazine, it does not sacrifice its rapid reloading capabilities, allowing for massive sustained firepower.

The Ashot is one of the simplest weapons found in the Metro series. A simple piece of pipe with a firing pin and a grip, the Ashot is common amongst all the poor areas of the Post-Apocalyptic world - from the bandits and gangsters of the Moscow Metro to the tribals of the Caspian Sea. The weapon fires a single shotgun shell in its most basic format. It is also one of the most effective shotgun only in the Kshatriya among nosalises in close range combat but is an absolute pain to use due to the Ashot being a single-ammo shotgun hence the name and not that effective among mutants that are surrounding or cornering the player. First introduced in Metro: Last Light , the Ashot is a useful weapon up until the end of the game. It is an adequate weapon for close combat. Though slow, it is very economic in shots when taking down mutants like the nosalises in Undercity. It has a higher damage output than the Duplet , Shambler , or Saiga , which makes sense that the user only has one round before reloading; but lacks their range, rate of fire, magazine size, and versatility. While this makes the weapon evidently quite lethal at close range, it leaves Artyom very vulnerable - especially when under attack from multiple targets or vectors. It can be used effectively against shrimps , as seen in use by Fedor , but generally, the Ashot is an ineffective weapon in most situations and swapping the Ashot for another weapon is recommended whenever possible.

Note the lengthy animation when reloading. Xbox PC PlayStation 3. It resembles and is derived from a cut-down DShK Leave feedback. I thought the semi-auto shotgun or rotary barrel shotgun would be significantly faster to reload, but they just let you have more shells in one go really. Explosives that can be cooked hold Primary Fire before throwing. Throwing Knife. If you are going after achievements, you will want to play through the first half of the game up to Polis in stealth mode; use pneumatic weapons, sneaking suits, and silenced weapons to get the drop on enemies. Some times it does, sometimes it doesn't, it feels so inconstant. Playing on Ranger difficulties eliminates crosshairs and encourages the use this weapon when facing pack enemies, like watchmen and nosalis , or single strong enemies, like librarians ; otherwise, it is a waste of ammunition. As attachments in the misc slot can be combined together, all four attachments can be mounted to the weapon at once. In Metro: Last Light , it's still a powerful weapon and now semi-automatic by default.
The Uboinik is one of the most iconic weapons of the Metro Series , featured prominently throughout the game and on numerous promotional materials.
Characters Factions Mutants. Against humans, shotguns are much more effective, but I still think they're good for fighting monsters, simply because of the stopping power, though I wish there was a way to speed up reloading. Matt Jarvis 2 weeks ago Don't have an account? Note there are achievements related to this weapon. I am just not used to shooting something at pointblank with a shotgun and it not being an instant kill. Stealth one-shots are quite possible though. Get a therapist ;. Metro Jump to.
