After the birth of their first daughter Janine Jim , they decided to settle down in Huntsville as he was working for Muskoka Construction, and she was expecting her second daughter Diana John. Andre continued to work up north, but Rebecca kept herself very busy with raising her daughters and keeping an immaculate home. She knit, crocheted, did pickling any kind of pickle and preserves any kind of fruit. Always in crisply ironed neat dress and apron she worked tirelessly for her girls. She oversaw their participation in piano, bag pipes, ballet, tap and skating, with the costumes always made ahead of time. She took her Catholic faith seriously and instilled the power of prayer in her daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She never missed Mass on Sunday at the old church on the hill, or evening devotions. Each night prayers and rosary were said at home.
