Monogram refrigerator problems
Worse, this company has knowingly put a defective product on the market. The refrigerator has been working erratically since it arrived four weeks ago.
This is a cross post because I want to make sure those of you considering these appliances go into your decision with more information than I had We have a new GE Monogram all fridge and freezer 7 months so fortunately still in warranty located in separate areas of the kitchen. A technician came out today from the service company as it is still under warranty. He also saw signs of a developing rust problem and this fridge is not even 6 months old. We're going to follow channels to see what we can do but what would be the point of replacing it with the same same fridge likely to suffer the same issue within a year or two. While here he offered to look at the freezer - and there is a HUGE chunk of frost forming in the back which he says is indicative of a big issue "about to happen" whatever that means. He is writing up a request for someone from GE to come out and look at both units but his suggestion was to have the appliance store exchange them out for different units from another company that will fit in the same space as both are paneled and built in.

Please advise on what to look for or how to proceed if you have any ideas. I have discovered water accumulating on the bottom of the freezer section and also a slight amount under the fridge. The GE repairman didn't know why. The second declared no problem. And if you see excess build up of frost or ice on the freezer - that's a warning of something too apparently although I don't know what. As for myself, I will never again buy any GE product if there is no known positive product evaluations which could very remotely convince me differently. After reading about all the problems people have had with this model, I am surprised that GE continued to sell this Monogram model for years, with no improvement in quality. Well today was the day that GE Repair was to install a service part or what I call a band aide. If you own one of these model take the kick panel off and look at the bottom of the fridge casing. The technician stated he would need to install more of these anti sweat kits.
