Monsoon is an antagonist and boss fight in Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance. He's the main boss of Chapter R He is the third major boss fight, and overall, is the sixth boss fight of the game. He was one of the Winds of Destruction alongside Sundowner and Mistral , and was named after the seasonal wind systems that occur in West Africa and Asia-Australia. Monsoon is a cyborg for the Desperado PMC. His ability to manipulate Lorentz Force gives him the ability to "shatter" his body into various pieces. Monsoon is a tough boss chiefly because he is nearly invulnerable unless you manage to parry and counter him correctly. Note that Raiden has infinite Fuel Cells during this battle, and may engage Blade Mode for as long as you desire. This battle will no doubt test your parrying skills. Keep your guard up at all times and when you do get a chance to counter, take it but always be ready to block. A lot of this will come down to your ability to parry his attacks, but there are a few tricks to make this fight more manageable. However I strongly advise you avoid doing the second one, since you can prevent Monsoon from using his cheap dodge the second he touches the ground. This can be performed by throwing an EMP grenade or hitting him with a purple charged sai unlocks by beating Monsoon, charges automatically attack. Another thing to watch out for is his smoke bomb attack. If you see him do this move, then just STOP moving. Most of his attacks will come from above, so just stand there and parry everything he does. Doing this twice will let you cut it up and effectively end the move. This should be enough to win the fight, although try to focus on parrying his attacks over preventing them.
