This is the complete review. There are two things most every motorcycle enthusiast realizes when it comes to MV Augusta motorcycles. They are exotically designed and beautiful, and they are also quite expensive. When we tested the MV Augusta Brutale a predecessor to the model under test herewe came away very impressed.
The Dragster RR cannibalizes the Brutale pretty heavily for its skin and bones. Its three-cylinder motor that produces a claimed horsepower and 64 lb-ft of torque is present, as is the tubular steel chassis, trademark MV Agusta single-sided swingarm, 43mm Marzocchi fully adjustable front suspension and Sachs monoshock, and the same Brembo four-piston brakes mated to a Nissin master cylinder. So, what is different? The Dragster rolls on gorgeous cast aluminum spoked wheels, with the spokes only attached to the right side of the wheel. The big difference, however, is in the ride position. The Dragster utilizes a more cupped seat with a longer, flatter bottom section, which, depending on how you like your ride, is either good or bad.

Some of their bikes have missed the mark — I throw the uber-expensive Brutale RR and RS machines into the mix here — but others have been pleasantly surprising namely the cc three-cylinder bikes , such as the Brutale and the achingly pretty Superveloce The MV Agusta Dragster RR is very much a Brutale in drag sorry , running the same motor and chassis set-up, but with more relaxed ergonomics, bodywork and wheels whose spokes only extend to the right side of the rear wheel on the single-sided swingarm. Race mode does have a bit of a hit to the throttle at low speed but Sport mode is where I spent almost all of my time and the ride was a pleasant one for the majority of situations encountered over my month with the machine. The engine is for sure the star of the show but the chassis is not far behind, even if the ride quality is a little crude. Despite this, the Dragster turns with almost sublime speed. A short, snappy wheelbase of I feel a motorcycle of this price should come with a proper race-spec radial master-cylinder set-up, and the old-school feel at the lever lets the ride down, somewhat. When a relatively small displacement engine makes huge horsepower, you would typically find a peaky power delivery. A quick-shifter is standard for both up and down shifts.
There are cheaper bikes, more manageable bikes, even faster bikes in the same category but this one is special. And it goes as well as it looks! Twitchy is the word. MV is obviously aware of this and have added a top yoke steering damper. There was never an alarming almighty slap, but I had more than a few twitches on the narrow bumpy Italian roads. Now, compare this to the Brutale RR that costs nearly twice this much or the Brutale RR, for that matter , which has fixed passenger footpegs that crowd the muffler and look decidedly cheap.

MV Agusta are all about evolution over revolution. For the the Dragster RR looks as bonkers as ever, but it gets a bundle of small mechanical and electronic refinements that significantly improve the way it rides, without taking away any of its old fire-breathing aggression, which is quite a trick. Still the last word in naked decadence, its unique looks and aggressive sound are like nothing else and it has the poise and acceleration of a superbike. The bike is a standard MV Agusta Dragster RR and comes complete in two striking colour combinations; yellow and black, and blue and white. What's more, both the tank slider and fairing are made of Pirelli rubber, specially formulated by their Research and Development department, to combat against scratching and unwanted contact with third-party substances, such as fuel. What we said in MV claims the Dragster RR has increased torsional rigidity from its new engine mounts, although the chassis was stiff on the original model begin with — not so much its fully-adjustable suspension, which is actually soft when you bounce it at a standstill, but the trellis frame itself, giving the Dragster a harsh, unyielding feel at anything below brain-out speeds. Braking power is superb, but old generation Pirelli Diablo II tyres with a chunky section rear lack the grip of more modern rubber.
