Health insurance company Vitality has pulled out from sponsoring the Netball World Cup, with little more than two weeks before the tournament begins in South Africa. A subsidiary of South Africa-based financial services firm Discovery, it was announced in February that Vitality was set to return as the title sponsor of the tournament, having previously backed the edition in the same category. The brand has a number of sponsorships across netball, including the naming rights to the England national team. Now, Discovery has now confirmed Vitality will no longer sponsor the tournament, adding that the company will focus on its partnerships with both the South African and England national teams respectively. Regrettably, following negotiations, we were unable to reach a mutually agreeable partnership.

The league was commenced playing at the —06 season, replacing the Super Cup as the elite netball competition in England. Since the league has been sponsored by VitalityHealth and, as a result, it is also known as the Vitality Netball Superleague. Historically the league's most successful teams are Team Bath , who have won five titles, and the Mavericks , who have played in seven grand finals. In more recent times, Surrey Storm won successive titles in and and Wasps have played in three successive finals, winning two titles, between and In Manchester Thunder won their third title. The Vitality Netball Superleague VNSL season is fast-approaching and is set to be a thrilling spectacle of netball with 11 clubs battling it out to be crowned champions — and fans making their return to their favourite team arenas. The season — which runs from February 5 to June 5 — sees home and away fixtures returning to the league, following on from the season which saw the league delivered from two central venues. This means clubs can welcome back fans to watch games back at their home venues, with tickets currently on sale to every single regular round fixture here. First up — all 10 games from the Season Opener and Easter Weekend double-headers weekend will be live on Sky Sports and YouTube giving fans a chance to see every team and their favourite players on a bumper start to the season. And during the regular weekly round fixtures Sky Sports will showcase three live games a week, triple the number from the last home and away season in

Featuring 11 teams, the season is set to be the most competitive and exciting yet. It will feature big-name signings from across the world of netball who will showcase their skills on court and make their mark on the competition as the domestic game returns. Due to the ongoing COVID global pandemic the decision was made to host the Vitality Netball Superleague behind closed doors across two venues this season, to enable strict and consistent COVID protocols to be in place for all games, supported by an extensive season-long testing programme across the league. The season will get underway at Studio in Wakefield for the first nine weeks and move to the Copper Box Arena in London for the remaining fixtures. The fixtures for the highly anticipated Vitality Netball Superleague season have now been confirmed and can be viewed here. Over recent years they have been able to capture huge moments in our sport and bring fans closer than ever to netball. The increased visibility this will bring will shine a light on the incredible role models in our game and help to inspire a nation of women and girls to take to the court.
