However, some of their dialogue can be pretty misleading. To do this, go to your Skills menu and select the Pod Programs tab. By default, your Pod should have the Laser program equipped unless you purchased other programs, of course. Select it, and change it to the Scanner program. With your newly equipped program, head out into the open world and hold down the L1 button. Keep holding down L1 and move in the direction where the beeps are increased, and the Pod will reveal a hidden item to you. After the cutscene finishes from the previous mission, you'll find yourself in the Flooded City. Jump across the platform back to hte entrance of the area in order to trigger dialogue that reveals your next objective. You will need to go back to the City Ruins and back to the Resistance Camp, where you'll get a new Pod ability called Scanner. This will be needed to fulfill the objective at the Flooded City to find 9S. When you return back to the Flooded City, you'll need to scan for any android lifeforms within the area. When you use the Scanner, it will make a noise and reveal where you can interact with an android. Go to the areas marked on your map and scan. There will be enemies within the area that will attack you when you try to scan for androids.
