So, I have read the rules and have noticed that there are no rules stating that you can kill on sight and you instead have to initiate with the person in order to kill them. The question I have is: does this rule apply to military locations and areas of high people concentration? If it does not I feel like it very much should. All my time I have spent in DayZ has taught me to be hostile with people holding guns in their hands at military locations and not to be friendly with them. With this system of having to initiate with people, someone could just run through the middle of the airfield or in the middle of a field and not have to worry about being shot because you have to go and talk to them in order to kill them. I have had the drop on so many people so far that I could have killed and I wanted to kill but I couldn't because I had to initiate and what am I supposed to say? It seems impossible to be evil on this server because you have to get close to someone and initiate instead and the server feels more like a PvE server than an RP server.

Yeah, remember that whole no KOS bullshit that you just told me? There's plenty of people asking for a PVE mode and where there is demand the is the possibility for the game to grow and make money. The no KOS rules are to encourage Roleplay with other players, as the community sees killing another person an intimidate and sudden end to role play that was and could occur in that situation. The only way for KOS to be stopped in full, is to remove players ability to damage each other all together. Discussions Rules and Guidelines. There are factions and groups who often go against each other. Maybe the constant gunfire and people with weapons drawn and aimed should have tipped you off that you probably shouldn't be heading in there?
