The Hive is one of the strangest and most recognizable factions in the Destiny franchise. This race of macabre creatures never ceases to have interesting characters and lore, represented both in lore and in various Destiny expansions. While he might appear to be a simple boss fight, Nokris has tons of interesting mechanics and lore tied to him. From the justifications for his exile to the origins of his powers, here are 10 interesting facts about Nokris from Destiny 2 that you likely didn't know. Blood of Oryx formerly Grasp of Nokris. Prince formerly Ultra. Exiled by Oryx for his heresies, Nokris later traveled to Mars and was imprisoned in the polar ice by the Warmind Rasputin. Brother of Crota, Son of Oryx , Nokris was disfavored by his father for his physical weakness. To make up for that weakness, Nokris instead honed his mind, learning magic and hoarding knowledge and stories as a different form of Sword Logic to feed his Worm. He devised a plan to prove himself to Oryx by communing with the Worm Gods as he once did; however, while he succeeded, most of the worms rejected the disfavored son. Only Xol remained to grant him an audience. Fearing an attack from Yul, the Honest Worm , Xol made a pact with the forgotten child. Nokris traded his heart for some of Xol's power and the secret of necromancy. Oryx soon learned about his son's activities and was furious. Nokris's actions were sacrilege, and Necromancy was considered a heretical violation of the Sword Logic , for it disrupts the means of survival of the fittest.

As its name suggests, it resembled a Taken version of Nokris , and exhibited similar attack and movement patterns. The Likeness of Nokris was never a Hive , instead being created as a Taken by Drifter via his haul and sheer force of will. The sentience of the Likeness of Nokris is unknown, along with any possible gender, motives, or how truly subservient to the Drifter it was. The Likeness fought very similar to its Hive counterpart with the exception of that it instead of summoning Acolytes , it summoned Shadowbeasts. Meanwhile in Gambit Prime it is one of many Primevals that could appear after the bank was filled. During the events of Season of the Deep , they would attempt a ritual to resurrect Oryx, the Taken King by force through a ritual involving the use of Necromancy and a Hive Ghost. They appear about halfway through the strike after being summoned via ritual by four Knights , having no special mechanics and serving only as a powerful enemy. Upon defeating the Wizard, the Fireteam would be able to progress deeper inside Nokris's lair. To begin the fight, the fireteam must either crush the Ghost they are overseeing, or enter one of the bodies of methane scattered around the room, to which they will teleport to a random location and summon Vorlog and a small army of Acolytes and Revenant Knights at each body part of Oryx's body except his left foot and heart. To proceeded through this encounter, the fireteam must first use a Deepsight orb to reveal the three parts of Oryx's body currently being used in the ritual one of which will always be Oryx's heart , and kill Vorlog while standing in the radius of the ritual circle of said body part. One can tell if they're in the radius through a green circle beginning to glow around the body part and the player getting the Ritual Conductor buff.
