Akane believes it should be her due to her past research into Ai; she can understand how Ai felt and would be able to express what she would have wanted to convey. Ruby argues it should be her since she can understand how her mother would have felt, and she should be the one responsible for taking revenge. With Ruby now fired up, she asks for the next theme. The audition continued till late at night, with Akane gradually losing heart, feeling bad for the whole situation. And since Frill has been rooting for Ruby from the very beginning, Ruby comes out on top. With the audition over, Akane is on her way home when she runs into Aqua.
