Despite being classified as a carnivore, these creatures prefer eggs above all kinds of food and can usually be seen trying to steal some off of other creatures and even tribes. The Oviraptor is capable of releasing a pheromone that works as an aphrodisiac which causes creatures to lay more eggs and boosts the effectiveness of mammal breeding. Although the Oviraptor is too small to fight or be ridden by survivors, they play a huge role when it comes to making creatures breed and produce eggs which tribes utilize for cooking food for themselves or kibble for taming.

Use a Wooden Club to keep the Oviraptor unconscious. This is a crucial step, as Bows can kill this species because of their low health. The taming process begins now. After knocking the Oviraptor out cold with either a dart or the club and a clean uppercut, you need a Bola to keep the dinosaur as still as possible. Do not risk leaving the Oviraptor out to the elements, as it can wake up any moment and run off with your eggs.
