Electrical or emissions system failure can potentially cause a P DTC to appear in some situations, p0302 jeep. My car wasn't running poorly or lumpy Very easy to do yourself.

The Jeep was on and I was on my rock rails tugging on the straps and the jeep was rocking and and I heard a chime went down to the interior and the check engine light came on. I've only had the check engine light come on for gas cap. Went to the AutoZone and was told it was a P misfire? I looked on google for some info from other people and read some stuff but I wanted to hear what you guys think.

P is a real drivability concern and should be dealt with right away. Repairing P should be considered a high priority. The most common fix for P is to replace the spark plugs, coil packs, or if equipped plug wires. But, where is the second cylinder?

And for fuel, While you're in there if you up for it if plugs are good swap 2 and 4 injectors and see if it follows the injector. I'm gonna go down there now and talk to them further. Note that the misfire monitor in the ECU uses the crankshaft position sensor to check that rpm does not sag any more than a specified amount when each cylinder is supposed to fire, so it can be triggered by any problem in that cylinder, not just an electrical misfire.
