Super interested to hear the views of anyone who's tried BOTH. Pro or con, I'm interested in objective differences as in "X supports this feature, Y does not"and subjective preferences "I like X because Not interested in any unfriendly or irrational bashing of either painshoppro.

Corel PaintShop Pro is a comprehensive image-editing program that offers the vast majority of the features its rivals do, notably Adobe Photoshop. That said, without generative AI, the smart tools don't provide much that Photoshop hasn't already had for years, and a few are rough around the edges. Paint Shop Pro offers a lot of features for not much money, but only on paper. PaintShop Pro is one of the longest running photo editors for Windows users, starting life years ago as a shareware tool and then evolving first with JASC software and now Corel, into a broad-based image editing suite. PaintShop Pro Ultimate is actually the same as the regular PaintShop Pro , but bundled with a whole lot more extras, in true Corel style. These extras include MultiCam Capture 2. The Ultimate edition sounds great value, then, but it includes a lot of stuff you might not want or need which comes with its own separate installers. The Manage window is where you browse, organize, search and tag your images, while the Edit window is the photo editing mode. This is a long, long way from Lightroom, though. Neither does it offer any non-destructive editing tools. This is left to AfterShot Lab or the Edit mode. All you see in the Manage window is images edited or saved elsewhere It has no editing or quick-fix enhancement tools of its own. There are other options. Neither does it have the vas array of one-click presets you find in Lightroom and other programs.

Users can combine two or more painshoppro taken at different exposures and use the Clarify feature to automatically "dodge and burn" bringing out the contrast. However when the image is manipulated, painshoppro, painshoppro, 48bit color allows more precise color data to be maintained providing less image artifiacts after significant manipulation.
