While our heroes visit their friend Sanpei's home in the Ninja Village, Hanzo, the boss, is captured by a group of mysterious ninjas. Their leader is Kagetomo, a powerful ninja who has decided that he should be the boss instead of Hanzo. Sanpei and his brothers are determined to free the boss and confront Kagetomo and his forces, with the help of Ash, Serena and Lem. During the battle, Ash's Frogadier evolves into an immensely powerful Greninja. The ninja force is defeated, Kagetomo admits the mistake he has made and decides to focus on training him. Ash and his friends stay to enjoy the village festival, in which Hanzo appoints Sanpei's older brother, Ippei, as the new chief. After our heroes leave, the middle brother, Nihei, reveals to the others that he has seen something in Ash's Greninja that reminds him of the village's former hero.
